Battery Wharf

A sophisticated European-inspired brand for Boston’s only waterfront residential-and-hotel enclave

Situated along a rare stretch of Boston’s harborfront, Battery Wharf required a brand that could unify its luxury residences, boutique hotel, spa, and dining—all while differentiating it from the crowded landscape of Back Bay and Downtown offerings. The identity needed to feel global yet deeply local, capturing a refined lifestyle shaped by water, culture, and a distinctly European sensibility.

The Challenge

Battery Wharf wasn’t just a building—it was an unprecedented mixed-use waterfront destination.

The challenge was to overcome previous perceptions of a failing  condo project and heighten the expectations for modern luxury living, avoiding nostalgia while still grounding the brand in authenticity and place.

The brand had to elevate perceptions, build desire, and position Battery Wharf as a one-of-a-kind harborfront experience.

The Solution

This was a full rebrand of the Battery Wharf condominiums, designed to reposition the property with a distinctly elevated, European sensibility.

Inspired by iconic waterfront destinations such as Portofino, Venice, and Paris, we reimagined the identity to feel timeless, sophisticated, and quietly luxurious—more grand residence than conventional Boston condo.

The proximity to the North End, the parterre gardens and the homes on the water all were the inspiration for the ad campaign photographed on location.

What resulted was a fun, beautiful campaign that resonated with the buyers and spurred on a new enthusiasm for Battery Wharf.

Garamond’s timeless elegance and refined forms echo the “Wonderfully European” tagline, bringing sophistication and heritage to the brand.
